Companies are responding by bolstering specialised cybersecurity capabilities. In the same region, Avanade announced a 150‑200‑person hiring surge in Australia and New Zealand to meet growing enterprise AI demand, while Ingram Micro launched a “Great Migration” program to help Australian partners guide organisations through AI workplace transformation.

European IT services firms such as SAP, Capgemini, Sopra Steria and OVHcloud are reporting double‑digit growth tied to AI deployment in regulated sectors, underscoring a shift from building models to integrating them at scale. Gartner’s latest research confirms this trend, describing a move from AI pilots to a disciplined AI‑engineering discipline that combines DataOps, ModelOps, LLMOps, AgentOps and DevSecOps. Thought leaders also warn that relying on a single model creates lock‑in risk; a flexible, multi‑model orchestration layer is recommended to keep enterprises agile as frontier models evolve.

Despite the technical focus, consumer uptake of AI agents remains limited. Industry insiders estimate only about ten million weekly users for AI‑agent products, a fraction of the billions using chat‑based generative AI. The overall picture is one of rapid AI expansion paired with an urgent need for robust security, governance and architectural flexibility.
