Avant & Una Film Festival launches in Bihać with 25 films and environmental awards

The 8th edition of the Avant & Una Film Festival opened on a star‑studded stage at the Lapidarium of Kapetanove Tower in Bihać, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Organized by a volunteer team that has grown over eight years, the six‑day event will showcase 25 selected films across three competition categories, ranging from narrative to documentary works.

The festival highlights the protection of the Una River, naming its top prize the "Unska sirena". Special recognitions were presented to veteran Bosnian‑Herzegovinian filmmaker Ratko Orozović for his lifelong contribution to cinema, and to environmental activist Alen Zulić for his work preserving the river’s biodiversity. Television editor Đelo Hadžiselimović curated the competition selection.
