Avantium and Xiver announce major industrial investment programs

Dutch technology companies Avantium and Xiver have announced significant capital increases to support their industrial scaling and production capacities.

Avantium, a renewable-chemistry company founded as a Shell spin-off, has announced a €55.45 million rights offering. The funds are intended to address working capital shortfalls, finance the ramp-up of its flagship FDCA plant in Delfzijl, and support commercialization efforts. The move follows the company's transition from a technology developer to an industrial producer.

Xiver, an Eindhoven-based foundry specializing in photonics and microsystems, has secured €28 million in financing from ABN AMRO. This funding is part of a broader €55 million investment program aimed at modernizing equipment and increasing production capacity to meet global demand. Xiver was established in early 2025 following the separation of Philips' Mems & Micro Devices activities.
