Avatar Aang Animated Film Set for 2026 Release on Paramount+

The animated feature "Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender" (also titled "Avatar Aang: El último maestro del aire") is slated for a 2026 release on Paramount+. Produced by Avatar Studios, the film marks the franchise's first full‑length movie since the original 2005 television series. Original creators Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino are directly involved, and the voice cast includes Eric Nam as an adult Aang, with returning characters Katara (Jessica Matten), Toph (Dionne Quan), Zuko (Steven Yeun) and Sokka (Román Zaragoza). A new character, Tagah, is voiced by Dave Bautista.

The plot follows Aang as he seeks to stop a rebel faction called "the Renegades" from obtaining a mystical scale that can grant bending abilities. The film blends 3D CGI with traditional 2D hand‑drawn animation, with animation work contributed by Sydney‑based Flying Bark Productions and Seoul‑based Studio Mir. It serves as a bridge to the upcoming sequel series "Avatar: Seven Havens" scheduled for October.
