Avatar announces Australian and New Zealand tour

Swedish metal band Avatar is returning to Australia and New Zealand to tour in support of their tenth studio album, ‘Don’t Go In The Forest’. The tour marks the band's first visit to the region in three years.

In Australia, the Sydney-based metal group Pyrefly has been confirmed as a support act for dates in Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane. In New Zealand, the Wellington-based veterans Bulletbelt will open for the band during their Auckland performance at the Powerstation on September 1.

Frontman Johannes Eckerström noted that the upcoming tour is an opportunity to establish the band's presence in the region and build upon the success of their previous visit. The live performances are expected to feature the theatrical elements and visual storytelling characteristic of the band's identity.
