Avatar franchise expands with new series and twin Avatars

The Avatar animated franchise is expanding with new series announcements and developments. At the New York Comic Con, creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko revealed that a new series, ‘Avatar Kuruk: Wave of Chaos’, is in development. This prequel will follow a younger version of the Northern Water Tribe Avatar, Kuruk, as he travels the world to master the four elements. Showrunner Bryan Konietzko described the upcoming series as the most comedic in the franchise to date.

Additionally, the recently premiered series ‘Avatar: Seven Havens’ has been renewed for a third and fourth season. This new installment introduces a significant shift in the franchise's mythology by featuring two Avatars simultaneously: twin sisters Pavi and Nisha. The story follows these reincarnations of Korra's successor as they navigate a world where Pavi lives on the streets while Nisha has been raised in protection by the White Lotus.
