Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game Xbox launch delayed to Sept. 3
Gameplay Group International announced that the Xbox Series X|S version of Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game will not launch alongside the PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2 and PC releases scheduled for 23 July 2026. The Xbox launch is now set for 3 September 2026 due to “unforeseen circumstances on a backend feature,” which affects online services such as matchmaking and server infrastructure. Pre‑orders for the Xbox edition remain valid and will not be cancelled.
The Switch version will launch on schedule but only as a Standard Edition, with English‑only language support and no cross‑play at launch. The developer pledged to add cross‑play and additional languages in future updates. A free DLC character, Tagah, was also announced for later in the year. Reviews note solid 1‑v‑1 combat and hand‑drawn animation, while the delay has generated disappointment among Xbox fans.
Various outlets reported the same details, confirming the delay, the backend issue, and the continued pre‑order validity across regions.
