Avatar: Seven Havens to premiere on Paramount+ this October

The upcoming animated series ‘Avatar: Seven Havens’ is set to premiere on Paramount+ on October 9. Created by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, the series serves as a sequel to ‘The Legend of Korra’ and aims to explore a more fantasy-focused direction rather than a sci-fi or high-tech setting.

Co-creator DiMartino noted that while the technology from the Korra era remains a backdrop, the show will focus on a mystery element and an Avatar who faces public misunderstanding. The visual style is inspired by the 2D animation of Hayao Miyazaki, specifically films like ‘Spirited Away’.

A recently released clip highlights a new main character, Captain Karthik, an Airbender voiced by Akshay Khanna. Known by titles such as ‘the Human Hurricane,’ the character appears to have complex allegiances involving a mysterious Council and the Order of the White Lotus. The first book of the series, subtitled ‘Survival,’ will consist of several chapters, including ‘On the Horizon’ and ‘Into the Storm.’
