Avatr clarifies Huawei partnership and outlines global expansion plans
Avatr has clarified recent rumors regarding its partnership with Huawei, stating that claims suggesting the company does not value the collaboration were a misinterpretation. Avatr Vice President Yong Jun explained that while the brand utilizes Huawei as a public platform for technology and services, it does not believe a model where Huawei's Yinwang division creates an exclusive, customized smart driving version for Avatr is necessary. The company aims to use Huawei's platform to build differentiated products rather than relying on them for 50% of all resources.
Avatr President Chen Zhuo emphasized the importance of maintaining independence in computing power scheduling and vehicle solution layers to avoid becoming a mere hardware integrator. The brand plans to focus on original design, scenario-specific customization, and AI-driven smart cockpits.
Looking ahead, Avatr intends to launch a new six-seat flagship SUV in the fourth quarter, integrating technologies from Changan, Huawei, and CATL. The company also revealed international expansion plans, with the Avatr 07 targeting Europe and the 07L scheduled to arrive in the European market this December. Additionally, the company confirmed that IPO-related processes are proceeding according to regulatory requirements.
