Avatr tests right-hand drive 06T electric wagon in UK

Chinese premium automotive brand Avatr, a subsidiary of Changan, has begun testing right-hand drive versions of its 06T electric sports wagon in the United Kingdom. The testing follows a confirmed launch for the model in Thailand scheduled for April 2026.

Avatr is also expanding its presence in the Australian market, where the 07 mid-size SUV has previously been spotted in Melbourne. The brand aims to launch both Avatr and the Changan namesake brand in Australia.

The 06T lineup includes several performance tiers. The top-spec Performance grade features three electric motors producing 712kW and 996Nm, capable of a 0-100km/h sprint in 2.78 seconds with a 710km NEDC range. Other variants include the dual-motor Max and the entry-level Elite. Additionally, an extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) version is available, utilizing a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine to achieve a total driving range of up to 1200km.
