Aveiro Diocese to host next Rejoice Catholic youth gathering

The Diocese of Aveiro was announced as the venue for the next edition of Rejoice, the national Catholic youth pilgrimage. The announcement was made in Lamego by Cardinal D. Américo Aguiar at the closing Mass of the current Jornada Nacional da Juventude, after more than a thousand pilgrims spent three days at the event. No specific year has been set, as organisers said the timing depends on national and international calendars to avoid clashes.

Cardinal Aguiar joked about the “ovos moles” of Aveiro and highlighted the importance of youth understanding their identity through their relationship with Jesus. Bishops of Setúbal and Lamego also addressed the pilgrims, urging them to reflect on their faith rather than geographic or familial ties.
