Avellaneda awards funding to 12 youth climate action projects
The Municipality of Avellaneda has selected 12 projects for the third round of the Youth Climate Action Fund. This global initiative, funded by Bloomberg Philanthropies, supports solutions to local climate challenges proposed by individuals aged 15 to 24 in collaboration with local institutions.
The selected projects will receive more than 61 million pesos to implement actions focused on energy efficiency, waste management, circular economy, green space revitalization, and urban mobility. These initiatives are scheduled to be developed between November 2026 and April 2027.
Over the past three years, Bloomberg Philanthropies has allocated a total of 200,000 dollars to Avellaneda to strengthen youth participation in climate action. The program operates internationally in coordination with United Cities and Local Governments, the Bloomberg Center for Public Innovation at Johns Hopkins University, and Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors.
