Avellaneda-Lanús Diocese celebrates 25 years of unity

The communities of the Avellaneda-Lanús Diocese gathered at La Estación Park in Avellaneda to celebrate their Diocesan Feast. The event marks the Jubilee for the 25th anniversary of the union of the Avellaneda and Lanús territories under the theme ‘Renovando la Alianza, caminamos juntos’ (Renewing the Alliance, we walk together).

During the celebration, Bishop Marcelo ‘Maxi’ Margni reflected on the historical journey of the diocese, acknowledging that the integration of the two previously distinct territories was not always easy. He called for the community to live with ‘humility and courage,’ specifically citing the humility of the Virgin and the courage required to address social injustices.

Addressing the inclement weather during the event, Bishop Margni noted that the rain served as a metaphor for life's challenges, suggesting that neither weather nor life's adversities should prevent the community from coming together.
