Avellaneda music school celebrates 40th anniversary

The Escuela de Música Popular de Avellaneda (EMPA) celebrated its 40th anniversary at the Teatro Roma. During the ceremony, Avellaneda Mayor Magdalena Sierra announced a municipal subsidy for the institution, which was used to purchase a Yamaha piano for the school's main auditorium to support student training.

The event also highlighted the school's recent success, noting that the EMPA Tango Orchestra won the 2026 Carlos Gardel Award for Best Orchestra Album. This production, directed by Bruno Ludueña, is the first album in the school's history and was recorded at the Juan Domingo Perón studio within the Centro Municipal de Arte (CMA).
