Italy hosts diverse cultural, culinary, and social events
Various cultural and community events are taking place across Italy. In Pompeii, the archaeological park is launching ‘ECSTATIC POMPEII. I misteri di Dionysos’ from August 28 to September 26. This second edition of the Esopop festival uses theatrical performances and guided tours to explore the myth of Dionysus, inspired by recent archaeological finds like the Casa del Tiaso.
Other regional highlights include the Irpinia Mood 2026 food festival in Avellino, which focuses on food sustainability and allergies, and the ‘Irpinia Wine & Castles’ project aimed at promoting enotourism. In Cagliari, the RistorAUT restaurant is opening to provide inclusive employment for individuals with autism and Down syndrome.
Traditional festivities continue with the Fiera dei Soprastanti in Foligno, featuring historical currency, and the ‘Fratta dell’800’ in Umbertide. Additionally, the Capo Arte Teatro Festival in Calabria features traditional puppet theater, while the ‘La Notte Bella a Garbagna’ event celebrates local culinary traditions.
