Avellino hosts 'Trame' art and poetry festival at Church of Carmine

From 2 to 4 August, the Church of Carmine in Avellino became the venue for “Trame: Dialoghi tra Arte, Poesia e Città,” a three‑day cultural programme that brings together visual art, poetry and live music. The project, conceived by artist Dorotea Virtuoso and curated by art historian Emanuela Conforti together with historian Immacolata Di Maio, is supported by the municipality of Avellino and forms part of the city’s summer cultural calendar.

The opening vernissage on Sunday, 2 August at 18:30 featured institutional greetings from Mayor Nello Pizza and Culture Assessor Luca Cipriano, followed by critical commentary from Gianluigi Santoro and Josephine Gesualdo. Over 20 artists displayed their works, and the programme continued on Monday with a “Sinfonie di Versi” poetry reading complemented by live piano performances. The event aims to foster dialogue between contemporary creativity and the urban identity of Avellino, encouraging residents to engage directly with the artworks and performances.
