Avellino police conduct security checks near schools

To mark the start of the school year, the Avellino Police Headquarters and the Avellino Prefecture conducted extraordinary prevention and monitoring operations in Avellino, Italy. The initiative focused on areas near schools and locations frequently visited by young people, specifically during student arrival and departure times.

Supported by the canine unit of the Avellino Prison Police, the operations aimed to combat drug trafficking, substance consumption, and the illegal circulation of weapons among minors. During the activity, one young person was reported for the unjustified possession of offensive objects. Additionally, three administrative measures were taken against individuals for possession of narcotics for personal use, with reports filed to the Prefecture. Authorities also filed a report against unknown persons after discovering narcotics in the immediate vicinity of a school.
