Province of Avellino commits €1 million sponsorship to U.S. Avellino 1912

The Province of Avellino has confirmed a one‑million‑euro sponsorship for the football club U.S. Avellino 1912, funded from the province’s current‑year budget (2026‑2028) and approved by the provincial council on 26 February 2026. The province’s president, Fausto Picone, said the support will use football as a promotional tool to raise the region’s profile and boost tourism.

The club announced its pre‑season programme for the 2026/27 Serie B campaign. Players will assemble on 13 July for medical checks at the Villa Esther clinic and athletic tests at the Partenio‑Lombardi stadium. From 16 to 31 July the squad will train in Rivisondoli, Abruzzo, with joint sessions against Castel di Sangro (19 July) and Scafatese (22 July). The schedule concludes with a friendly against Sambenedettese on 26 July at the Riviera delle Palme stadium in San Benedetto del Tronto. The team is coached by former defender Alessandro Nesta.
