Avellino reshapes squad under new Serie B youth‑minute rules and eyes multiple signings

A Serie B reform approved in February doubles the minimum playing time required for clubs to receive youth‑development funds, lowering the threshold to 1,800 minutes for players born on or after 1 January 2004. Each minute played by a home‑grown player counts at 100 % value (about €200 per minute), while loaned players are valued at 75 % (around €150 per minute). The total pool is divided among the twenty clubs according to the minutes they accumulate.

Avellino currently has no eligible under‑21 players in its squad, prompting the club to target young Italian prospects to meet the new criteria and unlock funding. The team is set to add three new signings for coach Alessandro Nesta, including Juventus loanees Brando Moruzzi and Giacomo Faticanti, as well as a possible deal for Niklas Pyyhtiä from Bologna. Interest is also reported in midfielder Matteo Lovisa and forward Giuseppe Leone, while the club evaluates other young talents such as Eddy Kouadio.

These moves reflect Avellino’s strategy to comply with the incentive scheme, strengthen the roster, and generate additional revenue through the re‑calibrated minute‑based system.
