Avellino signs Walid Cheddira from Napoli

Avellino has officially completed the permanent signing of striker Walid Cheddira from SSC Napoli. The Moroccan forward, who previously played for Lecce, has signed a contract through June 30, 2030. The transfer, described by club officials as one of the most significant investments in the club’s recent history, was finalized to bolster the offensive line following an injury to Daniel Fila.

Ahead of their Serie B second-matchday fixture against Vicenza, Avellino manager Alessandro Nesta has characterized the upcoming game as a “final.” Following a loss to Arezzo in the opening round, Nesta emphasized the need for an immediate reaction and discussed tactical adjustments, including the integration of Cheddira into the squad. The match is scheduled to take place at the Partenio-Lombardi stadium.
