Avellino stadium project faces tension between club president and city officials
The future of the Partenio Lombardi stadium in Avellino has become a point of intense debate between club president Angelo D’Agostino and local administration. D’Agostino has expressed significant frustration over the lack of official responses to the club's proposals, stating he is willing to step down if his presence becomes an obstacle to the project. He intends to present a new project by October 31, relying on regional funding from Campania rather than European funds.
Avellino Public Works Councilor Enza Ambrosone clarified that previous project financing attempts stalled because proponents failed to complete necessary procedural steps, such as regional conferences. The current administration is pursuing a new path through a Design Direction Document to secure regional funds. Ambrosone emphasized that the decision is not political but a response to the lack of municipal budget for the project.
Other regional news includes the inauguration of a new RSA in Bientina, an anti-discrimination event in Avellino, and the participation of the Pachino IGP Tomato Consortium in a major international fruit exhibition in Madrid.
