Avenged Sevenfold releases surprise EP 'Statica' ahead of North American tour

Avenged Sevenfold unexpectedly released a four‑track EP titled “Statica” on July 23‑24, 2026, without any prior promotion. The eight‑minute‑plus collection – “Lights,” “Statica,” “Rejoice,” and “Ashes” – runs 18 minutes 7 seconds and showcases a shift toward futuristic, electronic production, featuring robotic vocals, sci‑fi synths and EDM‑style beats that depart from the band’s traditional heavy‑metal sound.

The EP follows the band’s 2023 album *Life Is But a Dream…* and the standalone single “Magic,” which appeared in the Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Season 1 update. The surprise release coincides with the start of Avenged Sevenfold’s 2026 North American co‑headlining tour with Good Charlotte, kicking off on July 25 in Ridgedale, Missouri. The itinerary includes dates across the United States and Canada, such as shows in Chicago, Toronto and Montreal, and will conclude in late August before the band heads to Brazil’s Rock in Rio and later to Asia and Australia in the fall.
