Marvel Studios conducts reshoots for Avengers: Doomsday

Marvel Studios is currently conducting reshoots for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, directed by Anthony and Joe Russo. Reports indicate these additional photography sessions are being used to incorporate a significant number of cameos. Speculation regarding character returns is high, with Jeremy Renner potentially reprising his role as Hawkeye following social media teasers, and rumors suggesting the return of Tobey Maguire as Spider-Man.

Robert Downey Jr. will star as Victor von Doom, a role Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has expressed immense confidence in, calling Downey ‘the greatest actor of his time’. The film is positioned as a central pillar of the Multiverse Saga, set to unite the Avengers, the X-Men, and the Fantastic Four. Promotional materials, including new posters featuring team logos for the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Wakandans, have already begun appearing in locations such as Tokyo, Japan.

The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on December 18, 2026. The production is noted for its massive scale, with some reports suggesting a cast of approximately 180 members. Actors such as David Harbour have noted that the Russo brothers encourage improvisation on set to enhance character depth despite the film's sprawling ensemble.
