Avenida Brasil 2 adds Thomás Aquino and Jéssica Ellen to cast

Brazilian broadcaster Globo has confirmed two new cast members for the upcoming telenovela Avenida Brasil 2, a sequel to the 2012 hit written by João Emanuel Carneiro. Actor Thomás Aquino will portray a militiaman in the fictional Divino neighbourhood, a role that involves “parallel power” and political ambitions within the story. Actress Jéssica Ellen will join the series in a newly created character that is linked to the iconic villain Carminha, though details of the role remain undisclosed. Production is set to begin filming in October, with the series scheduled to premiere in 2027 during Globo’s prime‑time slot.
