Avenida Brasil opens new direct access to Via Dutra

A new elevated ramp has opened at the Trevo das Margaridas in Rio de Janeiro, providing a direct connection from the central lanes of Avenida Brasil to the Rodovia Presidente Dutra (BR-116) for drivers heading toward the city center.

This infrastructure project, implemented by the concessionaire Ecovias Rio Minas, is part of a broader expansion and modernization of the Dutra highway overseen by the National Land Transport Agency (ANTT) and the Ministry of Transport. The new ramp passes over the lateral lanes, eliminating the previous requirement for drivers to merge into the side lanes to access the highway, a maneuver that frequently caused congestion and traffic conflicts.

The existing access via the lateral lanes of Avenida Brasil remains operational, giving motorists two options for entering the highway toward the Baixada Fluminense or São Paulo. CET-Rio and concessionaire teams are stationed at the site to monitor traffic flow and assist drivers during the initial period of operation.
