São Paulo police investigate nine executions, dismiss serial killer rumors
The Civil Police of São Paulo are investigating at least nine deaths characterized by signs of execution that occurred across various regions of the capital within a 30-day period. The victims were found in different areas, including the East, South, North, and West zones, with some bodies discovered in plastic bags, blankets, or cloths.
Authorities, including the Director of the Homicide and Protection of the Person Department (DHPP), Ivalda Aleixo, have officially dismissed social media rumors suggesting the existence of a serial killer. Officials stated that the similarities in how bodies were discarded are common methods for concealing corpses and do not constitute a criminal signature. Instead, investigators are looking into individual motives, such as revenge or summary justice related to the Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC) criminal faction.
In a separate incident in Birigui, São Paulo, a 36-year-old construction worker was fatally stabbed at his workplace. Police are investigating a potential motive involving a dispute with a coworker that occurred the previous day.
