Aventra rescues German logistics firm Betz International from insolvency

The Schwäbisch transport company Betz International GmbH, based in Sonnenbühl, entered insolvency in April 2026 after a combination of weak economic conditions, intense competition and sharply rising costs. The firm employed around 140 staff and operated a fleet of 72 trucks serving the automotive, precision‑manufacturing and logistics sectors.

Insolvency administrator Dirk Poff announced that the newly founded road‑haul provider Aventra, a European transport services company headquartered near Stuttgart, has taken over Betz International. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The acquisition secures the majority of jobs, allows the Sonnenbühl site to remain a logistics hub, and ensures uninterrupted service for existing customers.

The takeover is seen as a positive signal for a logistics industry under pressure from rising costs, demonstrating that a stable operational base can attract new investment even during financial distress.
