Avenue targets Porto's eastern zone with new residential projects
Real estate developer Avenue is launching two new residential projects targeting the middle-high class segment in the eastern zone of Porto, Portugal. The company is focusing on the Campanhã parish, an area identified for its potential due to available land and infrastructure.
One project involves the acquisition of land in Campanhã for the construction of 90 apartments, with a projected launch in the first quarter of 2027. A second project in the same parish aims to build 100 new houses. Avenue CEO Aniceto Viegas noted that the area's dynamism, accessibility via metro and rail, and the future arrival of high-speed rail (TGV) are expected to trigger significant urban transformation.
The strategic shift toward this territory is driven by rising land costs in central Porto and Lisbon, alongside increased construction costs resulting from the pandemic, the war in Ukraine, and rising fuel prices.
