Average duration of male sexual intercourse varies by age

A 2025 study by Lovehoney indicates that the duration of sexual intercourse for men varies significantly based on age and other factors, such as alcohol consumption and frequency of recent activity.

According to the data, the average man aged 18–24 lasts approximately 16.14 minutes. Within this age group, 5% report lasting between one and two minutes, 13% last between three and five minutes, and 5% can last longer than an hour.

Sexual health expert and nurse Sarah Mulindwa noted that there is no single correct duration for sexual sessions. Research suggests that session length typically peaks in a man's late 20s to early 30s and tends to decrease gradually as men age.
