Aversa auto shop owner arrested for illegal waste disposal

An auto repair shop owner in Aversa has been arrested and his business seized following an investigation by the Carabinieri Forestali. Authorities discovered severe environmental violations, including unauthorized welding operations and the illegal management of hazardous waste.

Inspectors found the premises filled with oil-soaked rags, used tires, discarded lead-acid batteries, and plastic containers filled with toxic substances and waste oil. Additionally, investigators identified illegal discharges of washing water into the sewage system through oily deposits in sinks and decantation tanks. The owner was unable to provide required administrative documentation, such as waste tracking registers or industrial discharge permits.
