AVES Green Technology adjusts competition rules for 84-year-old participant

AVES Green Technology and Energy JSC has announced an adjustment to the rules of its AVES Future Mobility Challenge 2026 following a unique entry from an 84-year-old participant. The company issued an apology after realizing its original regulations limited participants to a maximum age of 80.

The participant, Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy, proposed a design for a two-wheeled electric motorbike featuring a protective canopy shaped like a traditional Vietnamese conical hat (non la). The design aims to provide shade and rain protection while incorporating cultural identity into modern transportation.

In response to the entry, AVES decided to expand the age limit to welcome the elderly contestant. The competition, which offers total prizes worth 265 million VND, seeks smart electric motorbike designs tailored to Vietnamese mobility habits. The company noted that promising designs may be considered for actual product development through commercial agreements with the authors.
