Avesta lasarett to receive 766 million SEK investment

Region Dalarna has announced a major investment of approximately 766 million SEK to modernize Avesta lasarett. The project aims to ensure the hospital remains under regional management while developing into a modern facility for Avesta and southern Dalarna.

The investment covers roughly 10,349 square meters of floor space, with 9,512 square meters slated for renovation. The goal is to create a more cohesive hospital with improved patient flows, a better working environment, and facilities adapted to future healthcare needs. Sofia Jarl, chair of the health and medical care committee, noted that the initiative will increase specialized expertise and modernize operations.
