Avezzano hospital death of Greek technician under investigation

A 35-year-old Greek national, residing in Munich, Germany, has died at the Avezzano Civil Hospital after being admitted under 'codice verde' (green code/non-emergency status). The man was in the Marsica region working as a technician at the Fucino Space Centre for a German company.

According to colleagues, the man began feeling unwell on Wednesday morning, experiencing dizziness and repeated vomiting while at work. Emergency services were called, and he was transported to the hospital. Initial medical assessments reportedly identified a potassium deficiency, for which he received intravenous therapy.

Despite receiving treatment, his condition did not improve, and he passed away during the night. Authorities are awaiting the arrival of the man's family to proceed with an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death and whether it was linked to his initial illness or another sudden medical event.
