Avezzano launches specialist school assistance meeting and approves Marsica integrated development strategy

The municipality of Avezzano will hold an informational meeting on Thursday, 6 August 2026 at the municipal building in Piazza Castello. The session will present the municipal register of accredited providers for specialist school assistance for children and youths with disabilities for the 2026‑2027 school year. Dr. Giovanni Conti, a specialist in child neuro‑psychiatry, will attend, and families can obtain contact details for local cooperatives and associations.

In a separate decision, the Union of Municipalities Montagna Marsicana unanimously approved an agenda to start institutional concertation and evaluate a framework programme agreement with Avezzano, the internal‑area municipalities and regional authorities. The plan aims to create an integrated territorial development strategy for the Marsica area, covering 34 mountain communes (about 84,500 residents) and the city of Avezzano (about 41,300 residents), aligning with regional plans and future programming for 2028‑2034.
