Avezzano reports tourism surge with 800 visitors from four continents
The city of Avezzano has experienced a significant increase in tourism, recording over 800 visitors from four different continents between April and July. This surge in interest has prompted the local tourist information point to extend its operating hours.
The information center, located in the octagonal kiosk at Largo Pomilio, was established through an agreement between the Municipality of Avezzano and the Ambecò cooperative. Following the high volume of requests from both international tourists and local citizens, the center will remain open Tuesday through Sunday during the month of August, with morning and afternoon sessions.
Local officials, including Mayor Gianni Di Pangrazio and Tourism Councilor Alessandro Pierleoni, have noted that the initiative is successfully promoting the city and the broader Marsica area. The increased influx has also been observed at the city's various cultural and exhibition centers.
