Avezzano's Astra Sound Festival blends urban music with historic heritage

The second edition of the Astra Sound Festival will take place in Avezzano, Italy, on July 10‑11. Organized by the local association Panama, the event combines hip‑hop, rap and underground music with guided tours of the city’s archaeological sites, including the Cunicoli di Claudio, the Aia dei Musei and the Alba Fucens ruins. Performances by DJ Gengis and Turin‑based rapper Ensi are scheduled, alongside food and drink stalls, illustration stands, tattoo artists and local exhibitors. The festival, which is supported by the municipality, aims to promote urban culture while highlighting Avezzano’s historic‑cultural assets.

The programming also features yoga sessions in the Monte Salviano nature reserve and activities designed to engage visitors from across Italy, reinforcing the city’s role as a hub for contemporary creativity rooted in local heritage.
