Avezzano's Settimana Marsicana Festival Concludes with Sports, Theater and Negramaro Tribute

The multi‑day "Settimana Marsicana" cultural festival in Avezzano, Italy, wrapped up on Sunday, 2 August. Organized by the Pro Loco di Avezzano with support from the municipal administration, the event featured a wide range of activities for families and locals.

Morning programmes included a children’s sports circuit in Piazza Torlonia, mountain‑bike races, a vortex‑launch competition and traditional games such as fionda and balestra. In the afternoon, a craft and vintage market opened on Via Marconi, while Via Corradini hosted a street‑food fair with more than twenty vendors. The cultural programme offered dialect theatre performances, an art exhibition titled "I painted Peace", and a puppet‑show by Luca Torregrossa.

The festival closed with a prize‑giving ceremony and a concert by a Negramaro tribute band on Piazza Risorgimento, marking the final celebration of the week‑long event.
