Avianca bans influencer Yeferson Cossio until 2027
Colombian airline Avianca has banned influencer Yeferson Cossio from using its services until August 21, 2027. The decision follows a restorative justice process regarding an incident on March 11 during flight AV46 from Bogota to Madrid.
During the flight, Cossio activated a 'stink bomb' that released a chemical odor in the cabin. While Cossio claimed the device depressurized accidentally and posed no real risk to the aircraft, Avianca stated the action compromised onboard safety, comfort, order, and hygiene while the plane was over the Atlantic Ocean.
In addition to the flight ban and formal apologies to the crew, Cossio faces separate legal consequences from the Colombian state entity Coljuegos. He was fined 116 million pesos for conducting illegal raffles and sweepstakes through his Instagram account.
