Aviation academies in Senegal and Morocco expand technical training
Aviation training institutions in Africa are expanding their academic frameworks and international partnerships to meet growing industry demands.
In Senegal, the Académie Internationale des Métiers de l'Aviation Civile (AIMAC), a subsidiary of AIBD SA, has launched its first higher education cycle following the Licence-Master-Doctorate (LMD) system. The academy also celebrated the graduation of its first two cohorts of ground handling technicians in Dakar. The initiative aims to provide high-level professional preparation and academic excellence to support airport infrastructure growth and meet the needs of international airlines.
In Morocco, the Académie Internationale Mohammed VI de l'Aviation Civile (AIAC) has signed a cooperation agreement with the United Kingdom's Lincoln College. Facilitated by the British Council’s ‘Going Global Partnerships’ program, the agreement focuses on technical and vocational education, research, and innovation in aeronautics, civil aviation, engineering, and digital technologies. The partnership emphasizes student and staff mobility, knowledge exchange, and increasing the participation of women within the aerospace workforce.
