Aviation competitions held in Prijedor and Prelog

Aviation enthusiasts are gathering for two distinct aerial events in the Balkan region. In Prijedor, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the 21st ‘Blanik Kupgliding competition is underway at the ‘Urije’ airfield. The event features approximately 30 pilots and 15 teams from across Europe, Australia, and the surrounding region.

Among the participants are young pilots from the Prijedor Aero Club, including 17-year-old Đorđe Pilipović, who is noted as the youngest competitor. The competition is held under the patronage of the City of Prijedor.

In Prelog, Croatia, a hot air balloon festival is scheduled to take place from September 3 to September 6 at the Marina Prelog. The festival will host 40 pilots from 15 different countries. The program includes a state championship with 30 competitive balloons, alongside mass flights featuring decorative shapes, workshops, and musical performances.
