Aviation incidents: Vietnam Airlines technical issue and flight-related death

A Vietnam Airlines flight (VN34) traveling from Munich to Hanoi experienced a technical issue approximately 30 minutes after takeoff. The flight crew announced a technical malfunction and initiated a fuel dump procedure before returning to Munich Airport for inspection. Passengers reported hearing strange noises and feeling vibrations during the ascent. The cabin crew maintained calm, providing water and instructing passengers on emergency procedures, including the use of exit locations and the “Keep down!” command to prepare for landing.

In a separate aviation-related health incident, a 30-year-old woman from China died shortly after an 11-hour flight from New Zealand to Guangzhou. Medical professionals identified the cause of death as acute pulmonary embolism, a complication of venous thromboembolism (VTE). Doctors noted that the patient had several risk factors, including a high BMI and a history of deep vein thrombosis, which were exacerbated by prolonged immobility during the long-haul flight.
