Aviation industry expands with new Scat Airlines and TransNusa routes

Several airlines are expanding their networks with new routes and partnerships. Scat Airlines will launch twice-weekly flights between Singapore’s Changi Airport and Shymkent, Kazakhstan, via Sanya, China, starting October 20, 2026. Utilizing Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, this service marks Changi Airport’s first direct connection to Central Asia since 2019.

Indonesian carrier TransNusa has introduced non-stop flights between Bali and Phuket, operating four times weekly on Airbus A320 aircraft. The airline plans to increase this service to daily flights by October 3, 2026.

Additionally, EgyptAir, Changi Airport Group, and Sydney Airport have announced plans for a new service linking Cairo, Singapore, and Sydney. Targeted for early 2027, the route will use Airbus A350-900 aircraft and aims to provide the first direct link to North Africa for both Singapore and Australia.
