Aviation updates: Air Arabia expands to Katowice as Ryanair cuts Jordan routes
Air Arabia has announced the launch of a new direct flight connection between Sharjah and Katowice, Poland, scheduled to begin on December 17, 2026. The airline will operate four flights per week using Airbus A320neo aircraft, flying on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
This expansion marks Air Arabia’s third destination in Poland, joining existing routes to Warsaw and Krakow. The new service aims to strengthen tourism and business relations between the United Arab Emirates and southern Poland, while utilizing Sharjah as a hub for onward connections to Asia.
In contrast, Ryanair has removed direct flights from Poland to Amman, Jordan, from its winter 2026/2027 schedule. The airline has ceased ticket sales for routes from Krakow and Poznan to the Jordanian capital. This decision means that during the winter season, passengers traveling between Poland and Amman will need to utilize connecting flights through other European hubs.
