Avigdor Liberman proposes dismantling Palestinian Authority and Hamas
Avigdor Liberman, leader of the Yisrael Beiteinu party, has proposed a comprehensive plan regarding the Palestinian issue. His proposal includes the dismantling of both Hamas and the Palestinian Authority. Liberman suggested reaching an agreement with Jordan to allow the kingdom to take responsibility for Palestinian life in the West Bank.
Liberman warned that within two and a half years, the United States is likely to recognize a Palestinian state encompassing the West Bank, Gaza Strip, Jordan Valley, and East Jerusalem. He argued that current Israeli policies have caused a decline in American public support, which could lead to political shifts regardless of whether the next U.S. president is a Republican or a Democrat.
Furthermore, Liberman criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, claiming his current actions are effectively assisting in the establishment of a Palestinian state. He characterized Netanyahu’s approach as one of ignoring warnings and delaying decisions, similar to the period leading up to the October 7 attacks.
