Avincis secures €80 million air‑rescue contract for Sicily’s four bases

Avincis was awarded the sole bid for a public‑service contract to operate air‑rescue (118) operations at the bases in Lampedusa, Messina, Palermo and Pantelleria. The contract, valued at €62.4 million for the four economic sections (totaling €80 million over the full 2½‑year term), covers emergency medical transport and, at the Messina and Palermo sites, fire‑watch services to be subcontracted.

The award follows a previous, partially successful tender that had only covered Catania and Caltanissetta. No other companies submitted offers for the four Sicilian lots, leading to Avincis being the only provider for the entire package.
