Aviron Bayonnais secures Laurent Travers extension through 2030

Aviron Bayonnais is entering a period of stability and renewal following a 20-17 victory over Racing 92. Laurent Travers, the club's rugby director, has provided an agreement in principle to extend his tenure with the team until 2030.

This long-term commitment follows a difficult previous season. Club president Philippe Tayeb publicly addressed the personal toll the season took on Travers, alleging that the rugby director was subjected to insults, injuries, and threats from individuals within the club's environment. Tayeb emphasized that the situation had gone too far and affected Travers' personal well-being.

Looking ahead, the club's technical staff is expected to evolve. Potential additions include Thibault Giroud as a physical trainer and Christophe Laussucq to manage defense. The current coaching structure includes head coach Ged Fraser and several other long-term staff members.
