AVIS promotes blood donation culture through school visits and anniversary celebrations

The Italian blood donation association, AVIS, is conducting various initiatives to promote the culture of donation. In the province of Terni, the organization is holding meetings in high schools across Terni, Narni, Amelia, Fabro, and Orvieto. These sessions aim to provide students with accurate information regarding the value of donated blood and the importance of individual responsibility in protecting public health.

Provincial President Leonardo Mariani noted that these educational campaigns serve as an investment in the community, helping young people transition into active citizenship once they reach the age of 18. While minors cannot donate, the program encourages them to spread awareness among family and friends.

In Cerro al Lambro, the local AVIS section is preparing to celebrate its 50th anniversary on November 15, 2026. The commemorative event will include a procession, a memorial plaque inauguration for deceased donors, and a ceremony to present honors to meritorious donors. The celebration will also feature musical contributions from the Corpo Musicale Giuseppe Verdi.
