Aviva and Plato Income Maximiser offer high dividend yields to investors

British insurer Aviva (LSE: AV) is noted for its market‑beating dividend yield of about 6.5%. The company, formed from a long series of mergers, employs over 36,000 staff and serves more than 25 million customers in the UK, Canada and Ireland. Its shares trade around 610 pence, valuing the group at roughly £18.3 billion, and have risen 48% over the past five years despite a 0.5% dip in the last year.

Australian listed investment company Plato Income Maximiser Ltd (ASX: PL8) aggregates dividends from a portfolio of ASX stocks—including Telstra, CBA, BHP and Qantas—and distributes them to shareholders monthly. With a share price of $1.39, it delivers a trailing yield of 4.75% and has achieved a total annual return of 9.9% since its 2017 launch, aided by full‑franking credits.
