Aviva Investors launches tokenized fund class on XRP Ledger

Aviva Investors has launched a new tokenized share class for its Sterling Liquidity Fund on the XRP Ledger, in collaboration with Ripple. This move follows the July tokenization of the firm’s U.S. dollar liquidity fund.

The Sterling Liquidity Fund is a UCITS money market fund domiciled in Ireland that invests in high-grade, short-term debt. While the fund itself remains off-chain, Aviva uses a digital twin model where blockchain records represent investor holdings, providing digital wallet access without altering the underlying investment structure or regulatory protections.

Aviva Investors has invested £50 million into this new sterling class. Combined with its previous tokenized offerings, the total investment across both tokenized money market fund solutions exceeds £86 million. The launch was supported by digital asset custodian Komainu and infrastructure platform Licuido, with BNY Mellon serving as the fund custodian.
