Aviva Investors launches tokenized Sterling Liquidity Fund on XRP Ledger
Aviva Investors, the asset management division of Aviva, has launched a tokenized share class for its Sterling Liquidity Fund on the XRP Ledger. The firm has committed £50 million ($66 million) of its own capital to this new share class, bringing the total investment across its two tokenized offerings—which include a US Dollar Liquidity Fund launched in July 2026—to over £86 million ($116 million).
The Sterling Liquidity Fund, which manages approximately £22 billion in total assets, utilizes a “digital twin” model. This structure represents fund ownership on the blockchain while maintaining the existing off-chain fund framework, regulatory protections under EU UCITS regulations, and the fund’s original investment objectives. The fund focuses on high-quality, short-term, sterling-denominated debt instruments.
The initiative was developed in collaboration with Ripple, which provides blockchain-based settlement solutions, alongside Komainu and Licuido for digital asset custody and token management. BNY Mellon serves as the custodian for the underlying fund assets. The tokenized shares are intended to provide eligible investors with digital access to the money market fund while improving operational efficiency.
